Photographs Should Spark A Conversation™

Don't just smell the flowers, roll in them.

Every photograph has a story, hence the old saying, a photograph is worth a 1000 words. That is true, but more importantly, to us at least, is this:  there is always more than one story in a photograph.

There is the SUBJECTS story: whether it be a mountain, a flower, an animal, a bird, a fish, or a human, there is a story there. We call that the SUBJECT’S STORY.

Then there is the story the photographer was trying to capture. Perhaps he was trying to tell the beauty of something. Perhaps it was the struggle, the heartache, the challenge, a life, the majesty, the beauty, the vastness, the detail or anything else. That is the PHOTOGRAPHER’S STORY.

And then there is the greatest story of all…YOURS, the story YOU see within the photograph! Where others see chaos, you may see order. Where others see struggle, you may see success. Some may see a mountain and you may see the vastness of a wilderness.

We hope as you view these photos and read the stories attached that you share with us your story, and that you share the photos and your story with someone else, and to let them see their story.

We believe that photographs should SPARK a conversation, tell a STORY, and INSPIRE others.

Photographs are, and have always been, an intriguing way to see something.

The moment the shutter is pressed, a brief instant in time has been captured. Literally a brief instant in time. I have shot photos as fast as 1/6000th of a second. Very few things can catch a split second of time and tell as big a story as a single photograph.

Photographs can catch light and stop movement to such a degree that you can freeze the speed of a hummingbirds wings. Something impossible to see with the naked eye.

More importantly than stopping movement, is the ability to fix a moment of time and light that may never be captured again, since time and light are constantly changing.

And of course because it is a photograph we have time to look at it, study it, and see details we might normally miss. Best of all we can share it.

We hope as you view our photographs that you see one that, makes you Smile,  Sparks Conversation, Inspires You, and that you want to share it with others. Happy viewing!
