Lily Of The Lake

Flower Lilly Pad .JPG

Sometimes a photo tells a story that is funny, poignant, awe inspiring, and sometimes it tells something simple.

This photo of the Lily was in an area where there are literally hundreds of them. Yet, this one, was off by itself, away from the others, almost as if it had isolated itself for some reason.

Perhaps the Lily needed time alone, or perhaps it didn’t see itself as beautiful as the other Lilies. Perhaps it was natures way of filling a rather Lily-less area with one flower that might help to bring more there. Perhaps it was all accidental. I am not really sure because I know very little about Lilies, but at the time I remember thinking this Lily was smaller, and even more beautiful than the others.

I also found the colors to be beautiful from the greens, to the white, to the yellows, and to the depths of the blackish water. The leaves have many marks and blemishes, and I liked that too. Their’s is not a perfect world, yet they help yield one of natures most beautiful flowers.

So from the black depths, sprouts a shoot of leaves, producing a beautiful outcome. Many times that mirrors life too.
