Majestic Fishing

Fisherman in river.JPG

I saw these fishermen in their drift boat fishing, most likely for Steelhead.

I parked and walked back with my camera and observed the scene.

Yes I could have zoomed in and captured a more detailed image of the boat and the fishermen. I could have zoomed in and taken a smaller picture but included a bigger expanse of water, but fishing photos are almost always done in similar ways. The fish caught, the fisherman holding it, part of the boat, the lake or river. And all of those are only part of the story.

Few photos make you feel as if you could experience the whole scene, the width of the river, the banks, the bends, and the mountains in the background. You can tell the season from the leafless trees, and see the snow has already lightly dusted the mountains. The heavy rains have not come because the river is still low, and flooding has not started. The sun is shining and offers beautiful reflections on the water. All of it tells a wonderful story and takes you into the experience.

A Majestic Day of Fishing.
